Mileage Trophy 2022
This trophy is awarded to the member who completes the most miles from 29th March 2022 to 31st December 2022 inclusive. (start date chosen to simplify totalling weekly mileage) It was agreed at our meeting on 16th Nov 2020 that mileage completed on turbo trainers could not be included in this competition. A ride was therefore deemed to be a ride outdoors, in any country, on roads or dirt tracks which is recorded using a GPS device. This would, therefore, exclude mileage on turbo trainers, Zwift, spin classes and any similar static device. Manual entries would also, of course, be excluded. All agreed that if a rider’s GPS device failed to record part, or all of a ride, unless the rider was with another member(s) who could ‘tag’ them in to verify the ride, the mileage would, unfortunately, not be counted. Members would need to be on the Club’s Strava page in order to enable their weekly mileage to be taken from the leaderboard. Dave Walsh will be collating the mileage totals for the Club. As previously requested, to make it easier to collect mileage totals, unless members are in a separate competition, it would be appreciated if they could mark any non-road cycling as private, to prevent it being uploaded to the leaderboard.
Both competitions will now hopefully continue to completion. Should the government/British Cycling introduce changes to cycling rules at any point in the year, the Committee would meet to discuss whether the competition(s) should continue.
Good luck everyone!
